    • An apparatus and method for hybrid multiplication in GF(2m) by which trade-off between the area and the operation speed of an apparatus for a hybrid multiplier in finite field GF(2m) can be achieved are provided. The apparatus for hybrid multiplication includes: a matrix Z generation unit generating [m×k] matrix Z for performing a partial multiplication of a(x) and b(x), by dividing b(x) by k bits (k≦┌m/2┐), when multiplication of m-bit multiplier a(x) and m-bit multiplicand b(x) is performed from [(m+k−1)×k] coefficient matrix of a(x) in GF(2m); a partial multiplication unit performing the partial multiplication ┌m/k┐k−1 times in units of rows of the matrix Z to calculate an (┌m/k┐k−1)-th partial multiplication value and a final result value of the multiplication; and a reduction unit receiving the (┌m/k┐k−1)-th partial multiplication value fed back from the partial multiplication unit and performing reduction of the value in order to obtain a partial multiplication value next to the (┌m/k┐k−1)-th partial multiplication value.

    • Provided are a device for and a method of electronic voting (e-voting) using a wireless terminal. The e-voting device comprises: a voter identity verifying unit which verifies a voter can be allowed to vote based on a certificate of the voter received from a wireless terminal of the voter over a mobile communication network; an encryption key management unit which creates an encryption key for encrypting the content of voting and transmits the encryption key to the wireless terminal; a vote information providing unit which provides vote information containing a list of possible voting selections to the wireless terminal; and a voting selection storing unit which decrypts the encrypted content of voting that a personal identification information of the voter has been deleted and stores its result. The present invention allows a voter to cast his/her vote in a simple and convenient way without time and travel demands, thereby increasing the voting rate, and also ensuring secrecy and anonymity.

    • Provided are methods of storing and searching for data in encrypted form. The method of storing data in encrypted form includes: encrypting desired data from among data stored in a database; dividing an entire region of the stored data into a plurality of bucket regions and allocating an index to each of the bucket regions; identifying order information in a bucket region to which the encrypted data belongs; and storing the encrypted data, index information of the bucket region to which the encrypted data belongs, and the identified order information in an external server. When a database containing important data of at least one user is stored in an external server using the above storing method, the security and efficiency of the database can be increased.
