    • A novel amusement apparatus or target game includes a target for receiving projectiles aimed and fired from a mobile firing device. The target includes a plurality of separate, projectile retaining compartments which are open at the front and each compartment has a selected scoring value for projectiles that are accurately fired and retained therein. The mobile firing device is manually aimed and fired to forcefully propel the projectiles towards selected compartments of the target. The firing device includes a body, preferably in the form of an animal which is supported in upstanding position on a suitable playing surface and a firing head is pivotally mounted on the body and is biased for moving an outer end portion or nose to strike and fire a projectile toward the target. A trigger is provided for releasing the biasing means to fire the projectile, and preferably, the firing head is in the shape of an animal head, such as a bull, with a pair of horns and the bull's nose is formed with a recess adapted to accommodate and fire the projectiles which are positioned on a support system aimed generally towards the target.

    • An illusory liquid apparatus is disclosed which provides the illusion of an item appearing and disappearing. An illusory item is suspended in a translucent or opaque fluid, and raised and lowered to alternatively be visible at the top of the fluid, and hidden under the surface of the fluid. Also disclosed is a new means for moving the illusory item by means of magnetic attraction. A magnetic attractor is placed in the illusory item, and magnetic attraction is used to raise and lower the illusory item. Alternatively, liquid may be moved to alternatively cover a fixed illusory item and then reveal it, or a mechanical linkage used to raise and lower the illusory item in the liquid. A new configuration for an illusory liquid apparatus is also disclosed in which the completely sealed outer body and inner vessel of the illusory liquid apparatus avoids the use of complex mechanical linkages.

    • A motor driven doll that rises from a face-down prone position to an erect standing position. Cam followers drive first one leg from an extended position behind the torso of the doll to a more forward position and then similarly drive the other leg to bring the doll to a splayed leg crouching position. Thereafter, simultaneous movement of the cam followers rotate the torso relative to both of the legs at the same time to raise the doll to an erect standing position. As the second leg is being moved from the rearward extended position, a third cam drive pivots the head rearwardly to shift the center of gravity and assist in raising the doll. As the doll reaches a fully erect position the head is driven to a forward position and, at the same time, a fourth drive effects a swiveling of the head so that the doll displays a pert glance of accomplishment.

    • A toy doll includes a body having an opening simulating a mouth and first and second electrical switches, each switch being disposed proximal to the simulated mouth and activatable by an object inserted at least partially into the mouth. A speaker is attached to the body. An electrical circuit including an integrated circuit chip is electrically connected with the switches and with the speaker. A base configured as a feeding tray is disposed externally of and is detachably connected with the body. The base has three external switches electrically connected with the circuit chip. The circuit chip has a plurality of memory registers, each register storing a separate signal corresponding to a separate audio message. The chip is configured to randomly select a prompt signal from the memory registers and to transmit the stored signal to the speaker. The prompt signal prompts the user to select a specified one of the switches. The chip is also configured to compare the selected switch with the specified switch. Further, the chip is configured to transmit a first message to the speaker when the specified switch is activated and a second message when a switch other than the specified switch is activated. The first message informs the user that the selection was correct and the second message informs the user that the selection was incorrect.

    • A skating doll includes a torso upon which are pivotally mounted a head and a pair of legs. The axis of rotation of one leg is angled with respect to the axis of rotation of the other leg so that each leg swings, with respect to the torso, from a rearward, outward position to a forward inward position. The legs include outwardly turned feet supported atop rollers oriented to move in a forward direction in response to the inwardly and forwardly directed force applied to the other leg. Each leg moves out of synchronism with the other and the head is powered for side to side movement so that the weight is on the forwardly moving leg. As a result the doll moves forward in a rolling, sliding, side to side, swaying motion which realistically simulates the movement of a roller or ice skater.
