A mattress or seat is formed in its upper surface with an anatomically shaped cavity which receives a bag partly filled with liquid to support the user. As shown, a mattress comprises a foamed rubber or plastics base 12 with a cavity housing a water bag comprising upper and lower flexible plastics sheets 28, 26 sealed together at their periphery. An open corner (34, Fig. 3) of the bag may be sealed or closed by a releasable clamp (40) after filling. The lower sheet 26 may be secured to the peripheral top surface 20 of the base 12. The water may include an additive e.g. copper sulphate or sodium chloride. A blanket 46 thermally insulates the patient from the bag. The lower sheet 26 could be replaced by a waterproof coating or lining in the cavity. In an alternative mattress (Fig. 14), the base (100) comprises a stiff plastics moulding with a foam rubber shoulder (103). In alternative embodiments (Figs. 8-13), a seat comprises a base and back-rest of foamed material, the base being formed with a cavity to accommodate a bag containing liquid having a specific gravity of approximately 3.0. A filling tube (81, Fig. 10) may extend through the base (63) to the bag.

    • A Secure Remote Peripheral Encryption Tunnel (SeRPEnT) can be implemented in a portable embedded device for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) with a much more restricted attack surface than a general purpose client computer. The SeRPEnT device can comprise a small, low-power “cryptographic switchboard” that can operate in a trusted path mode and a pass-through mode. In the trusted path mode, the SeRPEnT device can tunnel connected peripherals through the client to a server with Virtual Machine (VM)-hosted applications. In the pass-through mode, the SeRPEnT device can pass-through the connected peripherals to the client system, allowing normal use of the local system by the user. SeRPEnT can also enable secure transactions between the user and server applications by only allowing input to the VMs to originate from the SeRPEnT device.

    • A package for a plurality of unfilled ice cream cones is fabricated from a conventional frustoconical tub, an insertable annular stand and a ported keeper disk resting on the stand for holding interspersed inverted and right-side-up stacks of nested ice cream cones. The array of cone stacks is preferably an upright center stack surrounded by alternated inverted and upright stacks. The upright stacks are cushioned from one another at the upper ends thereof and the inverted stacks are canted outward by the keeper disk to make room for the upright stacks. A heat sealable cover and overlying lid are provided to complete the package.
