    • A computer-implemented method of visualizing a dataset is implemented on a computer having memory, one or more processors, and a display. The method includes: rendering multiple objects on the display in a tiled manner, wherein each object is a visualization of a respective set of fields of the dataset and there is no overlap between the objects; in response to detecting a first user instruction, switching the rendition of at least one of the objects from the tiled manner to a floating manner; in response to detecting a second user instruction, moving a first object to a location on top of a second object, wherein the location is determined by the second user instruction such that at least a portion of the second object is covered by the first object; and in response to detecting a third user instruction, updating both the first object and the second object.

    • A method includes generating a drive signal for a transistor in a switching regulator. The drive signal turns the transistor on and off to generate a regulated output voltage. The drive signal is generated based on a clock signal. The method also includes dynamically decreasing a frequency of the clock signal to decrease a dropout voltage of the switching regulator. Dynamically decreasing the frequency of the clock signal can increase a duration of switching periods defined by the clock signal. The dropout voltage could have a first value proportional to TOFF—MIN/TON—MAX during shorter switching periods and a second value proportional to TOFF—MIN/TON—MAX—DFC during longer switching periods. TOFF—MIN represents a minimum amount of off-time for the transistor during each switching period, TON—MAX represents a maximum amount of on-time for the transistor during shorter switching periods, and TON—MAX—DFC represent a maximum amount of on-time for the transistor during longer switching periods.

    • In an electronic ignition system for controlling engine spark and firing thereof, a circuit is provided for causing the current through the ignition coil to have a greater value during starting of the engine than the current therethrough when the engine is running normally. The circuit is operated in conjunction with control of a current interrupt circuit of the ignition system. Moreover, the start-to-run circuit prevents premature engine spark, which might otherwise occur if the ignition system is switched from a start mode to a run mode just prior to desired engine firing, by controlling the transition time of the current through the coil from the start value to run value.

    • A tachometer for measuring and comparing the angular velocity of a first and a second wheel of a vehicle includes means for sensing and generating a train of pulses for each of the wheels wherein the repetition rates of the pulse train varies in proportion to the angular velocity of the wheel. For each of the wheels a frequency doubler is provided for doubling the repetition rate of the pulse train of the varying repetition rates having pulses of the same pulse width and amplitude. For each wheel the frequency doubled pulse train is then integrated to provide a DC output. The two DC outputs for the two wheels are then compared, selected and applied to corresponding output terminals of the tachometer.The frequency doubler includes a capacitive means and means for charging and discharging the capacitive means to a first and a second potential in response to the rise and fall of each of the incoming pulse train to provide the output pulse train having twice the repetition rate as the incoming pulse train and having pulses of the same duration and amplitude.
