    • A float-based automatic drain valve automatically drains fluid from a compressed air cylinder; the cylinder includes a chamber with an inlet and an outlet. The inlet is formed at the top of the chamber and connects to a low point of the compressed air cylinder to receive fluid therefrom. The outlet is formed at the bottom of the chamber for discharging the fluid. A buoyant stopper disposed within, and not attached to, the chamber, seals the outlet when insufficient fluid is present within the chamber to float the buoyant stopper. Further, the buoyant stopper unseals the outlet and discharges the fluid when buoyancy of the stopper within the fluid overcomes forces seating the buoyant stopper at the outlet.

    • The system of the present invention is a method and system that enables consumers to receive specialized product and company information on demand to aid in consumer purchases. The system of this invention can comprise a physical interface device, a consumer profile, a products and services interface, and a consumer database. Each user in the system has an individual profile the consumer can set to identify their preferences in regard to a particular product. When the consumer sends a query about a particular product, the method of the invention performs a comparison of the consumer preferences a product with objectives ratings for that product. The consumer receives a result of these comparisons with an indication of whether the product matches the preferences indicated by the consumer. A match suggests that the product is one the consumer would purchase.

    • A method and system are provided for improving accuracy in an inventory containing assets associated with a network. In one embodiment, a method is provided for updating information pertaining to computer devices in a group of computer devices connected to a specified network. Each device sends packets through at least one router in a set of interconnected routers, and each packet contains an element uniquely identifying its sending computer device. The method includes maintaining an inventory identifying at least some of the computer devices as assets (of an entity associated with the network. The method further includes acquiring data from ARP caches that are respectively located within the routers. The acquired cache data is processed to detect all of the identifying elements contained therein that respectively identify computer devices of the group. A database is constructed from information in the cache data that pertains to respective detected identifying elements. Information contained in the database is compared with information contained in the inventory, and results of the comparison are selectively employed to update the inventory.

    • A method, system, and computer instructions for managing interruptions across applications in a data processing system. A user's focus is monitored within the data processing system. Responsive to a request to present a window in the foreground, the priority level of an application currently containing the user focus is compared with a priority level of an application presenting the window. If the application presenting the window has a higher or equal priority than the application currently containing the user focus, the window is presented in the foreground. If the application presenting the window has a lower priority than the application currently containing the user's focus, the request to present the window in the foreground is ignored. Information regarding the request is then stored in a log for later viewing.

    • A web browser plug-in supports a team approach to Internet research. An initial search, preferably by a web robot, generates an initial plurality of potentially relevant URLs, which are stored in a shared URL database. Team members are notified when new URLs are added to the database. Team members, optionally through an access control system, evaluate and rank the URLs for relevance. URLs are managed based on their rank, such as ordering their display and deleting non-relevant URLs. The rank of a URL may be indicated visually in a web browser, such as by displaying graphic icons adjacent its title.
