    • There is disclosed method of controlling transport network layer congestion detection in 3GPP HSDPA systems. According to the method, a first and a second SRNC for respective UEs camped in the same service area, generate respective packet flows of HS-DSCH data frames including among other fields FSN and DRT IEs synchronous to their respective internal RFN counters. The HS-DSCH frames are transmitted on respective lur interfaces towards a common DRNC which processes the incoming FSN and DRT IEs on a per flow basis for managing downlink transmission credits allocation on the lur. Before forwarding the two packet flows towards the same Node B, the DRNC regenerates the FSN and DRT IEs locally in order to recovery gaps in the received FSN and to impress a sort of time stamp in the DRT indicating the time instant when a frame is sent to the Node B from the DRNC itself. In its turn, Node B processes the received IEs in transparent way for managing downlink transmission credit allocation at the lub. DRNC takes and combines the credit indication signalled by Node B and the credits computed by itself (e.g. taking the minimum) for that data flow, and includes the results in the capacity allocation message sent to the relevant SRNC.
