The catheter, injection tube, and elastic tube, when coated with an adhesive of high viscosity, are compatible with the hard sealing agent lying thereabove and a small case composed of two pieces of members and enclosing the sealing agent increases the strength of the device, whereby the device is prevented from being deformed and causing leakage of fluid through the gap even when subjected to external force, that is, is improved in resistance to external pressure. In addition, connection of the conductive wires between the electrodes and the terminals arranged on the side of the small case serves to tightly fix the wires in the sealing agent packed in the case and causes no breakage of the wire, whereby the wires are connected to the external parts through the terminals to improve the reliability of the device.

    • The specification describes and claims a paste-like preparation comprising (A) a paste-like base comprising a polyorganosiloxane and a water-soluble polymeric material which are preferably present in a ratio by weight from 3:6 to 6:3 and (B) an active ingredient. The polyorganosiloxane is substantially linear and comprises predominantly R₂SiO units and chain terminating units R′R₂SiO 1/2 where each R represents a lower alkyl group, a halogenated alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an aryl group and each R′ represents a group R or a hydroxyl group, and the polyorganosiloxane is a liquid or a gum at 25°C. The water-soluble polymeric material may provide from 10 to 90% by weight of the base and may be chosen from water-soluble polymers and copolymers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylamide, cellulose derivatives and salts thereof, carboxymethylchitin, polyvinylpyrollidone, polyvinyl alcohol, starch derivatives, polyethylene oxide, gelatin, collagen and natural gums. The water-soluble polymeric material may be a particulate solid, the particles of which have a mean diameter of 2 to 100 micrometers. The preparation may comprise up to 70% by weight of a paste adjusting component chosen from fatty materials. The active ingredient may comprise for example a perfume, antiseptic or fertilizer or a drug, or quasi-drug, for example, a germicidal, antibiotic, anaesthetic, chemotherapeutic, vasodilator, expectoran, antianginal, hemostatic, gastrointestinal, antidiabetic, hormone or contraceptive agent.
