摘要： The invention provides a method for producing colored contact lenses with high quality color images. The method of the invention comprises the steps of (a) providing a water based ink in at least one cliché wherein a pattern to be printed on the contact lens has been created; (b) transferring the water based ink from the cliché to at least one surface of at least one contact lens forming mold by means of at least one transfer pad; (c) at least partially curing the ink transferred on the mold to form a colored film; (d) dispensing a hydrogel lens-forming material into the mold; and (e) curing the lens-forming material within the mold to form the contact lens, whereby the colored film detaches from the molding surface and becomes integral with the body of the contact lens; characterized in that the relative air humidity in the immediate vicinities of the transfer pad/s is kept higher than 50% at standard pressure and temperature conditions during ink transfer.

摘要： A process for the automatic manufacturing of different toric optical lenses having a front surface and a rear surface having a predetermined rotational orientation relative to one another, and with at least one of the front and rear surfaces having a toric portion, comprises forming a first toric lens by: -introducing a starting material into a lens mold (3) comprising a male mold half (30) and a female mold half (31) defining a mold cavity between the shaping surfaces of the male and female mold halves, the shaping surfaces being arranged at a first rotational position relative to one another and at least one of them being toric, and -curing the starting material in the mold cavity to form the first toric lens. The process further comprises subsequently forming a second toric lens different from the first toric contact lens using the same male and female mold halves (30,31) by -rotating the first and second mold halves (30,31) relative to one another so as to be arranged at a second rotational position relative to one another, and then forming the second lens in a similar manner. The step of rotating the male and female mold halves (30,31) relative to one another is performed automatically in the production line.

The printing station of the invention comprises: (a) a transport system (1) to carry and transport a molding tool (2) which comprises at leastone contact lens forming mold; (b) a pad unit (4) comprising at least one pad; (c) a blade unit (5) suitable to carry and ink a cliche (9) with an ink; wherein when in use the pad transfers an inked image from the cliche to the contact lens forming mold; d) curing means to at least partially cure the inked image after it has been transferred to the mold; (d) cleaning means to clean the pad/s (7). The printing station is preferably integrate in a partially or fully automated contact lens production line.
