摘要： An apparatus for forming a package of similar articles (12) wrapped by a carton blank (9) applied to a group of articles includes a conveyor (32) for conveying the article group and carton blank to a closing station, an alignment member (14) for causing the article group and the carton blank to adopt a pre-determined relationship relative to one another to provide a preformed unit to facilitate completion of the package, a device (16) for applying a force transverse to the conveying direction to the preformed unit, folding means for folding the bottom panels (3, 5) of the blank into overlapping relationship beneath the bases of the articles within the unit, and securing means for securing the bottom panels together at the closing station to complete the package.
