CONSTITUTION:A means to feed a powder material to a flame spray gun consists of a powder material feeding hopper 3, a replenishing hopper 2 positioned on the upper section of the feeding hopper and a quantitative feeding means 5 provided in the feeding hopper 3. Said hoppers 2 and 3 are communicated with each other through a valve 16, and a level sensing means 24 to sense the quantity of the powder material in the hopper 3 is installed in the feeding hopper 3. A time computing operating means 25 to make the valve 16 opening for a given period of time corresponding to a means 24 is provided in said valve 16 to maintain the powder material in the hopper 3 always at a constant quantity level. As a result, the feeding of powder material to the side of flame spray gun by means of quantitative feeding means can be secured in a state of a constant quantity at all times.

    • PURPOSE: To improve the wear resistance of a base material and to reduce the sticking quantity of catalyst by heating and melting a raw-material powder of specific composition by means of an ultrahigh speed flame, generated by using a high pressure combustion gas, and allowing the resultant molten raw material to collide against the surface of the base material to form a coating. CONSTITUTION: The thermal spraying material powder has a composition consisting of, by weight, 10-50% matrix material and 90-50% Cr3 C2 powder. The matrix material has a composition consisting of 10-30% Cr, 0-10% Mo, 0-2% C, and the balance Ni. This raw material powder is sprayed via the tip of a raw material supply nozzle 2, mixed with a combustion gas in the outside periphery of the tip of the nozzle 2, and burned. The resultant combustion flame is accelerated by an air flow fed via a compressed air passage and is sprayed in a state of a cylindrical flame at ultrahigh speed. The sprayed thermal spraying material powder is heated and melted in the center of the flame, accelerated, and sprayed via a thermal spray gun 1. The resultant liquid drops of the thermal spraying material are allowed to collide against a base material 100, and a sprayed coating 102 is formed on the surface.

    • PURPOSE:To allow the title apparatus to surely correspond to the quantitative supply of a material and the instantaneous supply thereof to a spray gun accompanying the start of plasma spraying, by incorporating a change-over valve for supplying and blocking the material in the vicinity of a powder nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A change-over valve 9 is operated with the start of the plasma spraying of a spray gun 1 and a supply passage 8 is permitted to communicate with a powder jet nozzle 2 by the change-over valve 9 to supply a powder material to the nozzle 2 of the spray gun 1 from a supply means 4 through the supply passage 8. When the spray gun 1 comes to a non-spray state and the change-over valve 9 is changed over, the supply passage 8 is blocked from the communication with the powder jet nozzle 2 to be allowed to communicate with a return passage 10 and, therefore, the powder material in the supply passage 8 is returned to a hopper 5 without being supplied to the nozzle 2. Therefore, the remaining of the material in the supply passage at the time of non-spraying is eliminated and the powder material is supplied quantitatively at each time of spray and can be uniformly supplied at the start time of spraying.
