摘要： A copy sheet distortion-removing fusing apparatus is provided for preventing fused image deletions and poor fused copy sheet appearance. The copy sheet distortion-removing fusing apparatus includes a frame; a first pair of rotatable rollers mounted to the frame and forming a first nip for receiving and moving a copy sheet therethrough. The first pair of rotatable rollers includes a heated fuser roller, and a pressure roller forming the first nip against the fuser roller. The copy sheet distortion-removing fusing apparatus also includes a second pair of rotatable rollers forming a second nip for immediately receiving and moving therethrough a fused copy sheet coming from the first nip. Each roller of the second pair of rotatable rollers includes a hard surface layer. Rollers of the second pair of rollers are mounted in pressure engagement against each other within the second nip for flattening out any distortions in the fused copy sheet being moved therethrough, thereby preventing poor fused copy sheet appearance on such fused copy sheet.

摘要： The method of fusing thermoplastic resin toner images to a substrate in a fuser including a heated thermally stable FKM hydrofluoroelastomer fusing surface at elevated temperature prepared in the absence of anchoring sites for a release agent of heavy metals, heavy metal oxides, or other heavy metal compounds forming a film of a fluid release agent on the elastomer surface of an amino functional oil having the formula: ##STR1## where 50.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.200, p is 1 to 5, and R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sub.4 is an alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms and a polyorganosiloxane chain having 1 to 100 diorganosiloxy repeat units, and R.sub.5 is hydrogen, alkyl or arylalkyl radicals having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, the oil having sufficient amino functionality per active molecule to interact with the hydrofluoroelastomer surface in the absence of a heavy metal and heavy metal anchoring sites to provide an interfacial barrier layer to the toner and a low surface energy film to release the toner from the surface; contacting the toner image on the substrate with the filmed heated elastomer surface to fuse the toner iage to the substrate and permitting the toner to cool.

摘要： An apparatus for fusing toner images to a substrate. A Release Agent Management (RAM) system for applying silicone oil to a metering roll utilizes a pair of metering blades to improve oil uniformity on the metering roll. Thus, streaks or localized areas of excess silicone oil as the result of blade defects and/or dirt accumulation associated with a first blade, ARE metered or smoothed to a more uniform thickness by the second blade. To this end, the first metering blade serves to meter silicone oil to a first predetermined thickness while the second blade serves to meter oil streaks to a second predetermined thickness which is greater than the first predetermined thickness.
