摘要： A digitally implemented single sideband (SSB) transmitter simultaneously generates a desired signaling waveform in response to a single data signal input, multiplies it by a carrier function, generates the Hilbert transform of the signaling waveform and multiplies it by a quadrature carrier function, and sums the two products to produce the SSB output. The simultaneous processes are developed in a vector waveform generator which includes a plurality of tapped first resistors connected across conductors selectively supplied with in-phase, quadrature and 180 DEG out-of-phase carrier frequency voltage signals. Each resistor tap point is connected through a switch and second resistor to a current summing amplifier, and outputs of a single tapped shift register close the switches for fixed short time periods to thereby generate amplitude and phase controlled carrier current signal samples which form the signaling waveform as well as simultaneously performing the other processes to produce the SSB output.

摘要： A telemeter for telemetry of diagnostic messages from a mobile asset to a remote station comprises a processor coupled to the output of one or more condition sensors. The processor converts the output of the condition sensors to a diagnostic message, and provides the diagnostic message at a processor output. A transmitter is coupled to the processor output. The transmitter is adapted to transmit the diagnostic messages in the Industrial, Scientific, Medical (ISM) frequency band. An exemplary embodiment of a telemetry system of the invention comprises a telemeter adapted to transmit diagnostic messages in the ISM frequency band, and a remote station including a receiver for receiving the diagnostic messages in the ISM band.

摘要： An apparatus for inspecting an operational condition of a rail track from a railcar includes an antenna positioned on the railcar that directs radar signals toward the rail track and collects radar signals returned from the rail track. A radar transceiver is connected to the antenna and supplying the radar signals to the antenna. The radar transceiver receives radar returned signals from an interaction of the radar signal with the rail track. A controller is connected to the radar transceiver for controlling transmission of the radar signals from the radar transceiver and receipt of the radar returned signals. A signal processing unit is connected to the controller and a sensor unit that supplies input data to the signal processing unit. The signal processing unit processes at least the input data and the radar returned signal to produce processor output data and to determine the operational condition of the rail track.

摘要： A propagation delay compensation device and method provide adaptive propagation delay compensation in a time division multiple access (TDMA) communications system. The device includes a range computation unit and a delay computation unit. The range unit receives data signals to identify respective positions of a base station and a transceiver and, in response, generates a signal indicating line-of-sight range between the base station and the transceiver. The delay unit receives the range signal and, in response, generates a required delay which provides for alignment of communications signals received at the base station to arrive in alignment with assigned time slots at the base station. In one embodiment, the invention enables communication from aircraft through TDMA cellular systems using standard TDMA waveform formats.
