摘要： In a printing press having a conventional plate cylinder and an impression cylinder operatively positioned on a frame with the impression cylinder having gripper fingers and a gripper finger positioning shaft, the improvement relating to a tumbler member secured to one end of the gripper finger shaft and having pin receiving recess means formed in such tumbler member. A pair of fluid-actuated independently controlled cylinders are provided at the end of the impression cylinder whereby when the cylinders are actuated the piston rods extend therefrom for engagement with the tumbler member to turn it and its associated shaft through an arc by rotation of the impression cylinder for controlling the operative and inoperative positioning of the gripper fingers on the gripper finger shaft.

摘要： The printing press includes a printing cylinder and an inking roll operatively positioned on a frame means and characterized by positioning arms engaging the inking roll for pivotal movement of such roll towards and away from the printing cylinder to operative and inoperative positions, respectively. Fluid actuating means operatively engages the positioning arms for moving the inking roll and an adjustment device is present to control the extent of movement of said inking roll. Further adjustment means are provided in the positioning arm engaging one end of the inking roll to aid in operatively positioning the inking roll parallel to the printing cylinder.

摘要： An improved air knife apparatus and method for controlling coating thickness on a moving metal strip. Air flow from blowers is supplied through a plenum chamber common to an air knife and a diffuser spaced along the path of strip travel. A valve between the plenum chamber and diffuser controls the relative flow of air through the knife and diffuser to establish the desired pressure and flow at the air knife to modify the thickness of the coating on the strip. The flow through the diffuser is directed against the strip at a location subsequent to the knife in the direction of strip travel, to chill the coating.
