[Class 83 (iii)] A lathe or like tool-holder comprises a longitudinal passage 8 for the reception of the tool 9, a wedge 11 slidable in a groove which opens out of the passage and has an inclined surface to act upon the wedge, and mechanism mounted at the rear of the holder for operating the wedge so that the tool is clamped from adjacent its cutting edge to its opposite extremity. The operating mechanism may consist of a nut 3 screwed on to a cylindrical part 2 of the holder and having coned portions 6, 7 which co-operate with projections 20, 21 on a rod 10 integral with the wedge 11; alternatively, the rod 10 may be moved by a cam or an eccentric or helicoidal incline. The wedge moves in either a dovetail or semi-circular groove in the holder, and has a shoulder 15 to prevent lateral displacement of the tool. If desired, the wedge may have both upper and lower inclined faces, and it may be formed separately from, but coupled to, the rod 10.

[Class 146 (ii)] [Also in Groups XIX and XXXVIII] An indicator comprises a transparent sheet with graphic or pictorial markings and two under sheets having rectilinear movement with relation to each other and to the top sheet, the under sheets carrying pointers consisting of transverse index lines having an apex adjustable relative to the graphic sheet. In Fig. 1, sheets b, d, are slidable relatively to one another beneath a transparent map a. The upper sheet b has a triangular aperture h cut therein, and the lower sheet d is provided with a coloured triangle g so that by sliding the sheets relatively to one another and to the map, a coloured indication of any desired position can be obtained. In a modification, the upper sheet is formed with an aperture or a transparent portion extending substantially diagonally, and the under sheet is provided with a coloured stripe arranged at an angle to the aperture or transparent portion. In a further modification, each sheet, the upper one of which must be transparent, is provided with a coloured stripe.

    • Some embodiments relate to a contactless RF coupling device that includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The RF coupling device may provide a broadband, low loss electrical connection without mechanical contact as would a conventional mechanical connector. The first substrate includes a first ground plane on one side and a first transmission line on an opposing side. The first transmission line includes an enlarged first coupling member at an end of the first transmission line. The second substrate includes a second ground plane on one side and a second transmission line on an opposing side. The second transmission line includes an enlarged second coupling member at an end of the second transmission line. The first ground plane may not extend under the first coupling member and the second ground plane may include an opening that is aligned with the second coupling member.
