    • A method and computer program product for performing the method are provided. The method includes receiving a first user selection of a source database object to be used in the creation of a new database object. The source database object has a first predefined database object type. The method also includes storing a reference to the selected source database object in association with a user identifier associated with the first user selection; receiving a second user selection of a second predefined database object type to be used in the creation of the new database object. The second database object type is different from the first database object type. The method also includes determining if a user identifier associated with the second user selection is stored in association with the user identifier associated with the stored reference, and if so, creating the new database object using the referenced source database object.

    • In a computing system, a selection of a predefined key performance indicator that is associated with a plurality of predefined dimensions and with definitional data is received. A dimension value for at least one of the predefined dimensions, at least first and second attributes associated with the dimension value, and a condition that defines a relationship between the first and second attributes are also received. A first reporting format is determined using the dimension value, first and second attributes, and the condition, and second and third reporting formats are determined using the definitional data.     • A planning monitor and control system is provided for use with an enterprise computing system. The system generates a user interface planning visual display that includes a list view area containing a list of planning projects predefined to be included in a list of planning projects of interest to a user. At least one of the listed planning projects includes an electronically linked electronic planning document that is created and maintained in an application software program module of the enterprise computing system that is separate from the planning monitor and control system. Planning information is generated in the linked planning document as part of the listed planning project to which the planning document is associated. The planning visual display also includes a planning project details view area in which non-final content from the linked planning document is displayed for the associated planning project included in the list view.

    • Computer user interface views provide information regarding performance. A method of configuring such a view includes receiving user-initiated input that identifies an area within an organization and a type of information for which a performance information visual display is to be provided. The method further includes receiving user-initiated input that defines a rule to be executed in providing the performance information display. The rule includes an identification of a source for data to be retrieved relating to the identified type of information for the identified organization area, a definition of one or more performance measures against which the data retrieved from the data source are to be measured, and a definition for a display layout for the performance information display. The method further includes electronically storing the defined rule in association with the identified organization area and the identified type of information, for use in generating the performance information display.
