    • Provided is a document reading device capable of performing shading correction and making it difficult for foreign matters to enter inside the device. A document reading device includes a reading unit (3), a glass unit (4), and a closing member (51). The reading unit (3) has a light source and reads a document. The glass unit (4) has a glass plate (20) that transmits light emitted from the light source and a reference member (40) serving as a reference for shading correction of a reading optical system. The glass unit (4) is disposed with a space provided with respect to the reading unit (3) and slid between a first position where the light emitted from the light source transmits the glass plate (20) and a second position where the light emitted from the light source reaches the reference member (40) with the space being maintained. The closing member (51) is positioned downstream of the glass plate (20) and the reference member (40) of the glass unit (4) in a document conveying direction and fills at least a part of the space provided between the reading unit (3) and the glass unit (4). • Provided is a document reading device capable of preventing distortion or twisting occurring in a document conveying device from being transmitted to a reading carriage incorporated in the document conveying device. A document reading device includes a second reading carriage (3) provided in a document conveying unit (A) and configured to read a surface of a document different from a surface read by a first reading carriage (2), a support frame (51) having a support surface (53, 53A, 53B, 53C) that supports the second reading carriage (3), a retaining member (54, 71) that retains the second reading carriage (3) by sandwiching the same between itself and the support frame (51 ), and an elastic member (55, 55A, 55B) provided between the second reading carriage (3) and retaining member (54, 71) so as to press the second reading carriage (3) against the support frame (51). One of the support surface (53, 53A, 53B, 53C) of the support frame (51) and a supported surface of the second reading carriage (3) that is supported by the support surface (53, 53A, 53B, 53C) is formed into a curved surface. • Provided is a sheet supply device capable of increasing the number of sheets to be loaded on a sheet supply tray without increasing a depth of the sheet supply tray. A sheet supply device provided with a sheet supply tray 10 on which a sheet is placed, a delivery roller 13 that contacts a topmost surface of a sheet bundle on the sheet supply tray 10 to deliver the sheet, and separation means 14 and 15 that feed the sheet delivered by the delivery roller 13 one by one in a separated manner includes an elevating tray 41 configured to be freely elevated/lowered so as to support a leading end side of the sheet bundle placed on the sheet supply tray and to move the topmost surface of the sheet bundle to a delivery position, a first drive section that elevates/lowers the elevating tray 41, a second drive section that elevates/lowers the delivery roller 13, and a controller that controls drive of the first and second drive sections, wherein the controller controls the first and second drive sections, wherein the controller controls the first and second drive sections so as to elevate the elevating tray 41 until the topmost surface of the sheet bundle reaches the delivery position and thereafter lower the delivery roller 13 to a position where it contacts the topmost surface of the sheet bundle.
