    • The present invention embodies orthodontic (including dental) implants (10) having a threaded shaft section (12), a neck (16), and a head (14, 28) of non-circular cross-section such as elliptical or delta-shaped. The neck (16) of implant (10) may be circular in cross-section (30), elliptical, or it may have an "apple core" configuration (16,17, 19a and b). Neck (16) of implant (10) may also have a through-hole 24, and implant (10) may further include an anti-gingival growth barrier (20) such as a transmucosal collar. Moreover, anti-microbial coatings or materials may be included as part of implant (10).

    • Disclosed is an embossing system to be used with a die press. The embossing system includes a force transfer assembly, which comprises a first cover (112) and an opposite second cover (114) with the first and second covers being connected by a hinge (116). The force transfer assembly further includes a stencil (210) and an opposing form (214) positioned internal of the force transfer assembly. The stencil and the form are adapted to sandwich an embossing material, such as paper, between the stencil and the form. The embossing system further includes a layer of static vinyl that is located internally of one of the covers to secure the form to the internal side of one of the covers. The embossing system also utilizes an adhesive located on the cover opposite the cover with the vinyl to secure the stencil to the internal side of the opposite cover.

    • Orthodontic brackets (30) and other orthodontic appliances have a pre-applied or factory-applied adhesives (40) thereon. The brackets (30), which may be plastic, metal or ceramic, have a bonding base surface to which an appropriate adhesive composition is applied or pre-applied. The adhesive (40), which is uncured, is curable, for example, by exposure to ultraviolet light. Preferably, a pre-applied adhesive (40) presents a non-tacky surface. An orthodontic appliance is assembled of a set of a plurality of brackets (30), one for each of a plurality of different teeth of a patient. The brackets (30) of the set may be of the same or different materials. The adhesives (40) on each of the different brackets (30) of the set are of more than one type, and maybe selected application or for pre-application on the individual brackets (30) based on the teeth to which they are to be bonded, the material of which they are made, some other criteria or a combination thereof. Adhesive Compositions for orthodontic brackets, comprising Bis-GMA, EBADMA, TIGDMA, CQ and a silica-based filler, are also disclosed.
