摘要： The present invention relates to a sterile syringe package (1). The sterile syringe package (1) has a sterile sheath (30) which sealingly encloses a sterile syringe (20). 摘要： The invention relates to anastomosis stents and plugs comprised of a non-polyglycolic acid material that is resorbable by the patient in about a few minutes up to about 90 days. Such stents and plugs may be employed in surgical techniques wherein tissue is joined at an interface without need for sutures, optionally through use of a tissue sealant. As a result, interfacial tensile strengths of at least about 1.3N/cm may be achieved.

摘要： New forms of ecarin, a procoagulant protein from Echis carinatus venom, are described, as are polynucleotides encoding the new proteins, methods for production of the new proteins, and methods for activation of prothrombin using the new proteins. The new ecarins comprise a serine at position 396 of the protein. The new proteins may be used for activation of prothrombin, and are particularly useful for the production of recombinant thrombin.

In particular, it relates to hemostatic compositions comprising stabilized thrombin and microfibrillar collagen in an aqueous medium. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the compositions are used in a kit comprising two different components, one of which is autologous patient's plasma as the source of fibrinogen, and the other of which is the thrombin-containing composition which also contains microfibrillar collagen.

摘要： Disclosed herein are uniformly shaped swellable devices comprising polymeric materials, as well as apparatuses and processes for their manufacture. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to load bearing implant devices for use in tissue repair. The implants consist of a resorbable, swellable implant body which is formed from a dehydrated cross-linked biocompatible polymer. As such, the implants are capable of swelling after insertion to become anchored in place. The implants function to enhance the structural integrity of the hard tissue into which they are placed, and thereby improve the load bearing capacity of such tissues. The implants are particularly well suited for use in attaching a second (hard or soft) tissue to the first (hard) tissue into which the implant is inserted. They may also be used as a site for attachment of a surgical device such as a screw, rod or pin.

Such an implant provides for efficient sealing of the tissue puncture opening thus avoiding complications after surgical procedures in which blood vessels are punctured.

摘要： Provided are devices and methods for dispensing a multicomponent composition comprised of a mixture of a plurality of different fluid components. A diffuser surface is placed downstream from a pluarility of inlets. An outlet extends through the diffuser surface. At least one inlet placed in fluid communication with a source of pressurized carrier fluid, and each of a plurality of inlets is placed in fluid communication with a source of a different fluid component. Once the diffuser surface receives fluid components, each received fluid component is directed toward the outlet for mixing and dispensing therethrough by the pressurized carrier fluid from the carrier fluid inlet. Typically, the fluid components are maintained in a different flow path on the diffuser surface before mixing.
