Pontoons.-Relates to floating docks made in three or more separable sections, any two of which may be used to lift the remaining sections or one of the remaining sections for examination or repair. Fig. 1 shows a dock comprising three sections or pontoons, preferably of U-shaped section, which may be bolted together. If it is desired to lift, say, the middle section C, the end sections A, B are turned so that the tongues D come under the central section and assume the position shown in Fig. 4, after the end sections have been pumped. Fig. 6 indicates how the end section B may be raised by the centre section C and the other end section A.

Money boxes.-In money boxes of the savingsbank type, the mechanism is mounted on a plate c on the lid b of the box, which can be set to receive a predetermined sum in, say, francs and halffrancs, or shillings and sixpences, when the lid is open. The full complement being reached, a lug on the counting-wheel m withdraws a bolt p and opens the lid. On opening the pivoted slot-cover f, its heel rocks the arm i of the three-armed lever g, so that the jaws j receive the coin which is inserted through the slot d. The cover is then pressed back, when the coin turns the lever and is itself forced over the opening e, when it is thrown into the box by a spring-pressed finger t, and the counting-wheel h is advanced through one or two teeth, according to the size of the coin, by the driving-pawl l. The second counting-wheel m is turned through one tooth by means of catches n for every half-revolution of the wheel h. The lever g, being locked against movement when the cover f is open, prevents fraudulent operation of the mechanism. The counting-wheels m, h indicate tens and units respectively, being figured on both sides. The figures on the upper side are visible through inspection holes, situated so as always to show the amount still required to open the box. The Provisional Specification states that the teeth of the wheel h may be removed or covered at a certain point, so as to prevent it from being operated by the insertion of coins after the full complement has been reached.
