    • An apparatus for automatically changing the operation of a dual-mode digitizer tablet system. The system comprises a cordless pen device generating an electromagnetic wave of a variable frequency and a cordless mouse device generating an electromagnetic wave of a different frequency. The cordless pen device operates in an absolute mode and the cordless mouse device operates in a relative movement mode. The apparatus comprises a detection loop sensing circuit for detecting electromagnetic waves and a signal processing circuit for extracting the signal of either the pen device or the mouse device. The extracted signal is rectified and digitized for determining the position of the cordless pointing device by a micro-controller. A frequency counter determines the frequency of the detected signal. By detecting and determining the frequency of the electromagnetic wave received in the tablet system, the operation mode is adjusted automatically.

    • A handwriting input apparatus used with an electromagnetic pen is disclosed. The handwriting input apparatus comprises a controller, an electromagnetic antenna board, a signal processing circuit and a charging circuit. The signal processing circuit processes the electromagnetic signals received by the electromagnetic antenna board. The charging circuit used to charge the electromagnetic pen includes a first device which is used to output a first voltage to charge the electromagnetic pen after a voltage of the handwriting input apparatus being inputted. The charging circuit further includes a programmable voltage device connecting to the first device. The programmable voltage device is controlled by the controller to change the first voltage according to the detection of the first voltage by the controller.

    • A handwriting device with a magnetic recharging site is disclosed. The handwriting device comprises a tablet with a magnetic recharging site and an electromagnetic pen with a magnet. The electromagnetic pen includes a coil for transmitting electromagnetic signals, a magnetic permeable material inside the coil, charging electrodes, a super capacitor or a battery and a first magnet. The tablet has a handwriting area, a pen's recharging socket, charging electrodes, a charging circuit and a second magnet. The recharging site is located adjacent the handwriting area for accommodating the electromagnetic pen, and the charging electrodes connect to the charging circuit of the tablet which can provide electrical power to the magnetic electromagnetic pen. The first and second magnets are used to mount the electromagnetic pen on the pen recharging socket through the magnetic force along a correct direction.

    • An electromagnetic manuscript input apparatus and a method thereof are provided for a manuscript input function. The electromagnetic manuscript input apparatus includes an electromagnetic pen and a digitizer. The digitizer includes a plurality of antennas and windings orthogonally distributed for inducing the electromagnetic waves of the electromagnetic pen. According to the electromagnetic manuscript input method, a controller of the digitizer is used to perform a whole region scanning process to find out a position of a winding having a maximum induction potential, and further find out positions of two immediately adjacent windings. An operation equation directly derived from a Gauss distribution is provided for calculating the coordinates of the electromagnetic pen on the digitizer based on the three positions and their corresponding induction potentials.

    • The present invention relates to a multi-function electromagnetic pen, and particularly relates to an electromagnetic pen with a multi-function tail part. This electromagnetic comprises a body, a pen-tip part, and a multi-function electromagnetic ring. The pen-tip part is disposed on the front part of the electromagnetic pen and the multi-function electromagnetic ring is disposed on the tail part (or rear end part) of the electromagnetic pen. The multi-function electromagnetic ring can emit different electromagnetic signals with different frequencies. These electromagnetic signals with different frequencies are defined by a tablet to represent different functions (or modes), for example erasing function (or mode), magnifying function (or mode), and palette knife function (or mode). A user can control and change the frequency of the electromagnetic signal emitted form the multi-function electromagnetic ring by pressing the switch on the body of the electromagnetic pen. By this way, the function of the multi-function electromagnetic ring can be controlled and changed. Therefore, it has no need to perform or start the function (or mode) of the tail part of the electromagnetic pen (or the multi-function electromagnetic ring) by the contact between the back part the electromagnetic pen (or the multi-function electromagnetic ring) and the tablet. Accordingly, the tail part the electromagnetic pen (or the multi-function electromagnetic ring) can work above the tablet without contact with the tablet, and it can prevent the tail part the electromagnetic pen from the damage caused by the contact.
