摘要： PURPOSE: To select an optimal characteristic and transmission gear ratio in dependence on travel conditions by feeding an actuator with control signals to engage a chain with a changed sprocket having a range of preset values including detected values whenever the detected values fall outside the range of a sprocket having been selected. CONSTITUTION: If any one of values detected by different sensors falls outside an allowable value range, a control device 11 shifts an actuator 17 to a lower or higher sprocket 20 in accordance with the polarity sign of the deviation of the detected value from the allowable range. If the sprocket 20 that has been used is adapted to a range of speed greater than the detected speed, for example, the actuator 17 is commanded to move a chain 19 to another sprocket 20 of a larger diameter. The control device 11 repeats the same operations for the newly selected sprocket 20 to determine whether to shift the chain 19 further to another sprocket 20.

摘要： A transmission gear unit (10) for the timing system control in internal combustion engines comprises two gears (11, 12) interconnected with each other by at least one gearing chain (13). A removable insert (14) is interposed between the gears (11, 12), which insert (14) has on one side thereof, one element (19) for fitting between at least two teeth of the first gear (11) and on its opposite side, at least two elements (16, 17) each fitting between two teeth of the second gear (12). In this way the insert (14) keeps the chain (13) stretched over the gears and prevents the gears from mutually rotating.
