摘要： According to the present invention there is provided a dispenser comprising (i) a container body (10), (ii) a storage region (12) which is disposed within the container body (10) and which in use contains a multiplicity of items (C) to be individually dispensed, (iii) a dispensing outlet (14), (iv) a passage between the storage region (12) and the dispensing outlet (14), (v) a valve member (38) disposed between said storage region (12) and said outlet (14) moveable between an open position and a closed position, (vi) a stop member (117) spaced from said valve member (38) so as to define a passage region (24) of a size to accommodate an item (C) to be dispensed, said stop member (117) being moveable into and out of a closed position in which it prevents passage of an item (C) through said passage region (24), and (vii) manually operable means (34) for moving said valve member (38) and said stop member (117).

The containment device includes a belt (26) retractably wound onto a reel. The reel is, in turn, mounted in a carrier (28). In operation, the carrier (28) is displaced to a locking point, the act of displacement unwinding the belt from the reel. When the carrier (28) is locked in position the belt (26) is locked with respect to the reel. Other features, particularly relevant to stairlift applications, are described.

摘要： An apparatus for the brewing of a beverage by transmission of an aqueous fluid through a sachet (4,16,39) containing a beverage brewing ingredient, the apparatus comprising: one or more injectors (14,63) to inject the acqueous fluid into the sachet (4, 16,39) during the brewing; and a clamp for the sachet, the clamp comprising one or more members (1,2,12,13,30,31,61) that are movable to open and close the clamp, the members having inner surfaces which in a closed position of the clamp define a cavity adapted to substantially enclose and support the sachet (4, 16, 39) during the brewing and further adapted to define a beverage exit pathway in a lower part of the cavity, and wherein the inner surface of a least one clamp member comprises at least one deformable region (3, 30,43) mounted on a support that is movable while the clamp is in the closed position, whereby the shape of the cavity or of the exit pathway can be changed while the clamp is in the closed position to provide a desired brewing configuration of the sachet (4,16, 39). The invention also provides methods of brewing beverages in such an apparatus and systems made up of the apparatus in combination with beverage sachets for use in methods of the invention.
