摘要： Method and apparatus for depositing a chemical over a body of water (24). One embodiment (20, 120, 220) of the invention includes collecting and concentrating a floating contaminant (22) between two floating booms (32, 34, 132, 134, 232, 234, 332, 334, 432, 434, 532, 534) pulled by one or more surface vessels (26, 28, 126, 226, 326, 426, 428, 526). The booms (32, 34) define an aperture (40, 140) intermediate of their endpoints (36a, 36b). Towing of the boom (30, 130) results in the flow of concentrated contaminant (22) through the aperture. One or more spray nozzles (42, 142, 242) deposit a liquid dispersant onto the contaminant (22) flowing through the aperture (40). Some embodiments include a mixing apparatus (52, 152, 252a, 252b, 252c, 352, 452a, 452b, 452c, 552a, 552b) aft of the aperture (40).
