    • Improved techniques are disclosed for processing data stream queries wherein a data stream is obtained, a set of aggregate queries to be executed on the data stream is obtained, and a query plan for executing the set of aggregate queries on the data stream is generated. In a first method, the generated query plan includes generating at least one intermediate aggregate query, wherein the intermediate aggregate query combines a subset of aggregate queries from the set of aggregate queries so as to pre-aggregate data from the data stream prior to execution of the subset of aggregate queries such that the generated query plan is optimized for computational expense based on a given cost model. In a second method, the generated query plan includes identifying similar filters in two or more aggregate queries of the set of aggregate queries and combining the similar filters into a single filter such that the single filter is usable to pre-filter data input to the two or more aggregate queries.

    • QoS aware multi radio access point for operation in TV whitespaces is disclosed. The present invention relates to operation of access points and, particularly, to operation of access points in TV whitespaces. The AP is configured to intelligently choose the radios, determine available whitespaces in the spectrum and allocate radios to the available whitespaces in the spectrum. The method determines clients that need to be serviced by the AP and assigns each client associated with AP to one of the radios. In addition, the method also takes care of QoS requirements for different services and hence every service is addressed to satisfy its QoS requirements. The method ensures that there is maximum utilization of available whitespace spectrum by accounting for the spectrum specific characteristics. The method considers bands for operation are spread across the spectrum and allocates the clients based on the availability of bands throughout the spectrum.

    • Systems and methods for beaconing and management in bandwidth adaptive wireless networks are disclosed. The present invention relates to bandwidth allocation for access points and, more particularly, to bandwidth allocation for access points in wireless networks. The method employs mechanisms for beaconing and management to associate clients with Access Point (AP). The beaconing mechanism allows the client to discover part of the spectrum over which an AP operates efficiently. Periodic beacon messages are sent by AP to the client over the bandwidth of operation of the channel. The client then sends a client association request and gets associated with the AP. Further, critical information is conveyed to the AP in the beacon message. The AP further allocates the client to one of its radios of operation. The system is configured to handle disruptions and switching the AP to different parts of the spectrum during such disruptions.
