    • A wind turbine blade with a lightning protection for a blade with a shell body has at least one lightning receptor arranged freely accessible in or on a surface of the shell body surface, and a lightning down conductor electrically connected to the lightning receptor and comprising an inner conductor made of electrically conductive material imbedded in a bedding insulation made of an electrically non-conductive material. The lightning down conductor further includes a first conductive layer having a resistance in the range of 10 to 10,000 Mega Ohm per meter (MΩ/m). The first conductive layer is located in a transverse distance from the inner conductor and being electrically isolated from the inner conductor.

    • The invention relates to a wind turbine blade with a lightning protection system, the lightning protection system comprises at least one lightning receptor arranged freely accessible in or on the shell unit surface at or in the immediate vicinity of the tip of the blade. The lightning protection system further comprises a lightning down conductor made of electrically conductive material extending within the shell body from the lightning receptor to the root end of the blade. The lightning receptor and the lightning down conductor are electrically connected. The shell body comprises at least a first conductive layer extending along at least a longitudinal part of the lightning down conductor in a transverse distance therefrom. The first conductive layer is electrically isolated from the lightning down conductor and from the lightning receptor, and has a sheet resistance in the range 1-5 Mega Ohm per square.

    • The present disclosure concerns LNA oligonucleotides having a (sub)sequence of the general formula 5′-(MeCx)(Tx)MeCxAsAstscscsastsgsgsMeCxAx(Gx)(c)-3′, and preferably of the general formula 5′-MeCxTxMeCxAsastscscsastsgsgsMeCxAxGxc-3′, wherein capital letters designate an LNA nucleotide analogue selected from β-D-oxy-LNA, β-D-thio-LNA, β-D-amino-LNA and α-L-oxy-LNA, small letters designate a deoxynucleotide, and underline designates either an LNA nucleotide analogue as defined above or a deoxynucleotide. Such LNA oligonucleotides exhibit surprisingly good properties with respect to inhibition of the expression of Survivin by means of an anti-sense mechanism, and thereby lead to reduction or inhibition of tumor development in vivo. The LNA oligonucleotides are superior to other LNA oligonucleotides targeting Surviving mRNA measured by functional read outs such as apoptosis induction and proliferation inhibition, and is potent in down-regulating Survivin mRNA and protein in transfected cancer cell lines, and induce apoptosis in combination with Taxol superior compared to other LNA oligonucleotides.

    • The invention relates to a method of lightning-proofing a blade (1) on a wind-energy plant, which blade comprises a blade shell (2) configured essentially as a fiber-reinforced laminate, which laminate comprises electrically conductive fibers, wherein the blade comprises at least one lightning arrester (9) configured for conducting lightning current, including preferably to ground. The method comprises that the electrically conductive fibers are connected to each other, and that at least one metallic receptor (4, 24, 25) is arranged for capturing lightning current at or in proximity of the external face of the blade; and that the receptor and the fibers are connected to the lightning arrester for equalizing the difference in potential between the lightning arrester and the electrically conductive fibers. When the electrically conductive fibers are connected to each other, the fibers will cooperate on the conduction of a possible lightning current to prevent the current from running in individual fibers. Simultaneously the metallic receptor will serve as the primary lightning capturing device and reduce the risk of lightning striking the laminate. The receptor being connected to the lightning arrester, the current will predominately be conducted to ground, while the risk of transfer to the laminate is minimized in that a possible difference in potential between fibers and lightning arrester has been equalized.
