摘要： The vehicle door hardware assembly includes exterior and interior housings each having a handle or paddle for opening the door. The outer housing includes a plunger which is normally extended, and can be retracted by either the exterior or interior handle when the door is unlocked. A deadbolt is also provided on the exterior housing. A main lock can be slid between locked and unlocked positions to preclude or allow movement of the paddle. A pair of key cylinders is provided on the exterior housing for actuating the deadbolt and the main lock. Power units can be connected to the lock and deadbolt via actuators. The deadbolt and lock are also movable by a pair of knobs on the inside housing.

The main door module includes an outside handle which retracts the main door plunger when the doors are both closed. The inside handle also retracts the screen door plunger when from inside the RV or trailer when the screen door is closed and the main door is open. An outside handle on the screen door module retracts the screen door plunger from the outside when the main door is open and the screen door is closed.

The plunger assembly includes a metallic plunger and a plastic link, which are connected so as to slide together between extended and retracted positions. The plastic link minimizes friction between the plunger assembly and the housing of the door handle, and minimizes wear between the link and the pivot plate which moves the plunger assembly from the extended position to the retracted position. The metallic plunger provides increased wear-resistance from contact with the striker plate or frame which surrounds the door in which the door handle is mounted.

摘要： A handle assembly is provided for use on storage compartment doors of a vehicle. The assembly includes inner and outer housings residing on opposite sides of the door. The handle assembly plunger resides on the inside of the door, rather than between the outside and inside door skins. An exterior handle can be grasped from either side for moving the plunger from an extended latched position to a retracted unlatched position for opening the door. An interior egress handle is provided to open the door from inside the compartment, as a safety feature. A key cylinder on the outer housing allows the handle assembly to be locked to preclude accidental or unauthorized opening of the door. The handle assembly allows the door to be opened by electric remote power and to be closed by slam action.
