摘要： A method of processing fish includes inserting hollow needles (32) into fish bodies (22) to be treated. The fish bodies (22) are supported in a treatment chamber (12) and each needle (32) inserted into a fish body (22) defines a passage having a discharge opening (36) placed inside the fish body (22). The passage in a needle (32) is in flow communication with a treatment gas supply. A treatment gas is fed into the fish bodies (22) via the needles (32) inserted in the fish bodies (22). A negative pressure is maintained in the treatment chamber (12) for inducing the treatment gas fed into the fish bodies (22) to be drawn through the fish bodies (22) thereby exposing the fish bodies (22) to the treatment gas for the processing thereof.

Gas and like engines.-Two-stroke-cycle engines which receive a charge of gas or vapour during the compression stroke, at the end of which air at a very high pressure is admitted to burn the charge gradually, and from which the residual products are expelled through a port 10 by steam generated in the cylinder by a jet of water entering through the pipe z, and directed towards the cylinder end, and improved as follows: The gas is compressed by a pump b, and the air by a pump e; the air is stored in a reservoir. The governor controls a valve o in the delivery pipe of the pump b and the water pump and air valve r by means of a sliding cam s. The engine may be compounded, or the exhaust may expand further in a turbine. The cylinder may be provided with the adjunct described in Specification No. 26,006, A.D. 1904.

Motor road vehicles.- Comprises extensions of, and additions to, dashboards and platforms, with the object of protecting and partly enclosing, and extending the accommodation on, the platform. The platform, shown n in Figs. 1 and 2, is provided with footboards g, and is enclosed at the sides by doors e which close against the ends of wings b extending from the sides of the dashboard a. Diagonal boards h, fixed across the curved wings b, provide additional accommodation for the attachment of gauges &c., and form spaces i which may be used as receptacles for tools &c. The " dome m, hinged at n to the top of the dashboard, serves to protect the driver and the apparatus mounted on the dashboard. Double folding doors, or doors of any suitable form, may be fitted instead of the single doors e.

Cut-outs.-Consists of a fusible cut-out in which the fuse wire d is fixed at one end and is connected at the other end with a sliding block e normally held under tension by a spring f, so that, when the wire burns out, the ends will be widely separated. The wire d preferably passes over a notched bridgepiece g, and it may also be slightly notched at this point to ensure breaking there. The sliding block e may be provided with projections which engage grooves in the sides of the cavity b. The casing may be fitted with a cover provided with holes for the admission of air and escape of gases. Modified forms are described in which springs are employed at both ends of the fuse wire, which is either straight, or is bent horizontally round a bridgepiece, so that the springs are parallel to each other. Fig. 8 shows the application of the invention to a cut-out provided with a handle, the handle z being attached by screws z after the fuse has been set. The fuse may be applied also to other forms of cut-outs and switches.
