    • An X-Y input device for computers and electronic control units of all kinds, by means of which the cursor of a visual display unit can be controlled, and functions can be called, without moving the hand, and by simply moving one finger. The input device consists of a device A, which is preferably fixed to an index finger, and transmits its position and direction in relation to a receiving device to the receiving device, by radio. A processing device evaluates the signals which are output by the receiving device, to form signals to control the connected devices such as computers and electronic control units. The X-Y input device can be used with computers, as an alternative to input devices such as mouse, joystick, light pen, cursor keys, etc. It has particular advantages where frequent changes between input via the keyboard on the one hand, and the input devices which have been used until now on the other hand, are required. In this case, for instance, the hands can remain in the basic typewriter position for cursor control. Cursor movement is controlled by movement of the index finger alone. The X-Y input device is in principle not subject to wear.
