摘要： A bone screw (10) is provided having a head (12) and a shank (14) with opposed first and second (16, 18) helical threads extending there around. In one embodiment, the shank (14) has a proximal portion (14p) with a constant minor diameter (d 1 ), and a distal portion (14 d ) with a minor diameter (d 2 ) that decreases in a proximal-to-distal direction to form a taper. The opposed first and second helical threads (16, 18) preferably define a thread depth (d t ) that remains constant along the length of the shank (14). In an exemplary embodiment, a major diameter (D 2 ) of the shank (14) at a distal tip of the shank (14) is equal to or less than the minor diameter (d 1 ) of the proximal portion of the shank (14).

摘要： In one form, a system for use in percutaneous surgical procedures includes a cannula having an elongate body extending along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and a distal end and including a working channel dynamically expandable from a first, unexpanded configuration. The system also includes a device that is positionable in and engageable with the working channel to expand the working channel from the first configuration as the device is moved through the working channel. In response to disengagement of the device with the working channel, the working channel returns to the first, unexpanded configuration. In one aspect of this form, the device includes an interbody spinal implant that is deliverable to a surgical site through the working channel of the cannula. In another form, a method for performing a percutaneous surgical procedure is provided. However, different forms and applications are envisioned.

摘要： A bone screw is provided having a head and a shank with opposed first and second helical threads extending there around. In one embodiment, the shank has a proximal portion with a constant minor diameter, and a distal portion with a minor diameter that decreases in a proximal-to-distal direction to form a taper. The opposed first and second helical threads preferably define a thread depth that remains constant along the length of the shank.
