摘要： A filter device for a dishwasher and associated apparatus and method are provided. The filter device includes an elongate housing having opposed ends, with one of the ends defining a fluid inlet. The housing is configured to define a channel therein extending between the opposed ends and has an upper wall and substantially vertical opposing side walls extending therefrom. The upper wall comprises a solid member, and at least one of the side walls comprises a fine mesh filtering screen, wherein washing fluid directed into the fluid inlet is filtered by the fine mesh filtering screen such that soil suspended therein is retained within the channel while the washing fluid passes through the fine mesh filtering screen and out of the channel.

摘要： A screening arrangement is provided for a dishwasher (10) having a tub portion (12) defining a sump about a lower end thereof. The dishwasher further includes a heating element (30)" disposed proximate to the lower end of the tub portion and defining laterally-opposed inner and outer peripheries. A screen element (32) is arranged adjacent the sump and is configured to screen a - dishwashing fluid entering the sump from the tub portion. The screen element (32) extends laterally inward of the inner periphery of the heating element (30) and laterally outward of the outer periphery of the heating element. The screen element is also configured to be heat-resistant so as to protect one of the lower end, the sump, and a lower spray arm from heat emitted by the heating element. An associated apparatus and method are also provided.

The manifold device defines a contiguous interior channel (75) between opposed inlet (125) and outlet (150) ends. The manifold device has an inner surface defining the interior channel and an opposing outer surface, and comprises at least two discretely-formed manifold portions (10OA, 100B), each extending between and at least bisecting the opposed inlet and outlet ends of the interior channel.
