摘要： The mechanism includes a valve assembly in a housing operable by a control member. The control member is provided with a locking element lockingly engageable with the housing in a predetermined position of the control member and a release member normally forward biassing the locking element into such engagement. Actuation of the release member to overcome the bias applies a reverse spring bias the locking element to effect disengagement when the control member is moved to release a frictional or other retention device. The control element comprises a lever on which the locking element is slidable into and out of engagement with the housing. The release member is slideable along the lever and relative to the locking element a substantially normally unloaded spring being retained between the locking element and the release member.

摘要： The clutch driven piston and cylinder compressor has a multi-plate clutch (14) with a shell (12) coaxial with a drive shaft (16). The shell is incorporated with the driven side of a crank shaft (9) to occupy part of the space defined by a projection of the path of movement of the compressor piston (6). A pneumatic pressure-operable release piston (21) acts against the outward face (31) of the clutch shell. A member (19) of limited axial movement has an extremity which projects radially beyond the shell for engagement with a stop (20) of the compressor housing to relieve the clutch plates of the compression forces of a spring (18). An extension of the drive shaft may pass rotatably coaxially through the crankshaft to run in a ball bearing at the other side of the crankcase and may drive auxiliary equipment.
