    • The invention relates to a method for obtaining content objects in a communication system. In the method is obtained at least one search criterion at a first node. At least one entity entry is determined from an entity contact information list. An identity of a second network node is determined from the entity entry. An address is determined for the second network node using the identity. A search is submitted to the second network node. The search criteria are matched to a number of metadata objects to obtain result metadata objects, from which is provided at least a content object identifier to the first network node. The first network node obtaining a content object using said content object identifier from a third network node to the first network node.

    • An approach is provided for managing split operation for information spaces with respect to their information content. An information space that is represented by a graph is retrieved (131); a request to split the information space into a first new information space and a second new information space is received (133); one or more broken links of the graph is determined (135); one or more nodes of the graph that are to be grounded is identified (137); the graph is grounded based on the identified nodes (139); a first set of rules for the first new information space and a second set of rules for the second new rules for the information space are created (141); a first boundary for the first new information space and a second boundary for the second new information space along the broken links are defined (143); and history of the first new information space and history of the second new information space are updated based on the respective boundaries (145). A respective approach for managing merge operation for information spaces is also provided.

    • Systems and methods are provided for effectuating a basis for implementing services capable of self-creation, self-evolution and/or substantive personalization without direct intervention from, e.g., a service provider. The resulting services are flexible and user-friendly, as a basic set of service primitives can be updated and extended at any point. Additionally, new and/or improved service functionality that is adapted to a user's behavior is done so in a non-intrusive manner. Additionally, implementation of service families, meta-service and readdressing as described above in accordance with various embodiments allows for the maximization of, e.g., a community training effect, when some interesting service finding of one community user can be easily shared and utilized by other users. Moreover, the systems and methods described herein for implementing/providing a basis for a flexible architecture minimizes resource consumption on the client side.

    • The invention relates to a method for automatic route aggregation in a communication system. Routes are aggregated in area boundary or equivalently in edge routers. The edge routers calculate most specific route aggregation solutions based on route information received from subordinate routers. The route aggregation solutions are provided to a master edge router, which performs further route aggregation based on information from all edge routers. The master edge router performs also route combination avoiding routing conflicts. The master edge router provides the resulting route aggregates to the other edge routers. The edge routers advertise the resultant route aggregates to an upper-level network.
