SOLUTION: The air cleaner is equipped with an air flow passage 1 capable of passing air (Air) to be cleaned, the gas removing filter 2 which is arranged in the middle of this air flow passage 1 and has a scavenger holding part 3 for holding the scavenger 4 for scavenging the gaseous chemical substance to be removed, and a scavenger adjusting device 5 for adjusting the holding state of the scavenger 4 in relation to the scavenger holding part 3 to available range.
