摘要： A communication unit including a light guide for illuminating a display including a substantially transparent plate-formed element with reception means for receiving light from light sources and for guiding the light into the transparent plate-formed element of the light guide. The light guide also has means for illuminating a keyboard. The means to illuminate the keyboard includes keyholes through the light guide, the keyholes having chamfered surfaces for reflecting the light in the light guide perpendicular to the surface of the light guide onto the keyboard. The light guide also incorporates a dome sheet having a reflector sheet attached to one side of the light guide and a keyboard flexibly attached to another side of the light guide.
