    • A method of making a filter assembly (10,10') is disclosed. The method includes injection molding a housing member (40,40') having an outlet end (44,44') and an inlet end (42,42') while simultaneously sealing the outlet end (44,44') of the housing (40,40') to an open end (54,54') of a tubular filter media (50,50'). The tubular filter media (50,50') further includes a closed end (52,52') which extends into the housing (40,40'). A filter assembly (10,10') is also disclosed. The assembly (10,10') includes a housing (40,40') having an inlet end (42,42') and an outlet end (44,44') and an internal passageway (46,46') therethrough for allowing fluid flow. The outlet end (44,44') of the housing (40,40') has a smaller diameter than the remainder of the passageway (46,46'). The assembly (10,10') further includes a filter media (48,48') defining a tube (50,50') having a closed end (52,52') and an open end (54,54') wherein the open end (54,54') is sealed to the outlet end (44,44') of the housing (40,40') and the remainder of the tube (50,50') extends into the passageway (46,46').

A method of filtering gelatinous material from a flow of fluid includes the steps of snagging gelatinous material from the flowing fluid and then passing the fluid through a filter.
