    • An electronically tunable band reject filter rejects only frequencies of a signal that are in the reject band around its center frequency. The band reject filter includes an input directional coupler for sampling of the signal that is to be filtered and provides a first and second signal thereby. The first signal is filtered by a bandpass filter that passes only frequencies of the signal that are around the center frequency of the bandpass filter. An output directional coupler combines the second signal with the filtered signal and obtains on a difference port the difference between the second signal and the filtered signal. The frequencies of the signal that are centered around the center frequency of the bandpass filter are thereby rejected.

    • A method for pulsed behavior modeling of a device under test (DUT) using steady state conditions is disclosed. The method includes providing an automated test system (ATS) programmed to capture at least one behavior of the DUT. The ATS then generates a DUT input power pulse that transitions from a predetermined steady state level to a predetermined pulse level and back to the predetermined steady state level. At least one behavior of the DUT is then captured by the ATS while the input power is at the predetermined pulse level. The ATS then steps the predetermined pulse level to a different predetermined pulse level, and the above steps are repeated until a range of predetermined pulse levels is swept. The ATS then steps the predetermined steady state level to a different steady state level, and the above steps are repeated until a range of predetermined steady state levels is swept.

The de-multiplexed RF output signals may be used in place of RF switching elements in certain embodiments. As a result, RF front-end switching circuitry in the RF communications system may be simplified, thereby reducing insertion losses, reducing costs, reducing size, or any combination thereof.     • The present invention is a dual mode quadrature RF power amplifier system that is efficient and meets linearity requirements in both modes of operation. In a high power mode of operation, the power amplifier functions in a traditional manner, wherein both quadrature amplifier legs feed a quadrature power combiner to provide a combined RF output signal at an RF output. Any imbalanced signals are routed to an isolation output. In a low power mode of operation, one quadrature amplifier leg is disabled, which would normally cause the signal being fed from the enabled amplifier leg to be split between the two quadrature outputs; however, the impedance at the isolation output is shifted to reflect the isolation output signal back into the quadrature combiner to appear at the RF output. The impedance shift at the isolation output causes an impedance increase at the active input, thereby lowering output power.

The emitter follower detector provides power detection with minimal DC current and without significant RF loading at the point of detection, such as an RF interstage. This balanced detector also provides more accurate power detection under high VSWR conditions due to the quadrature action minimizing peaks and valleys in the detected voltage.
