[Class 136 (i)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A cycle pump of the kind adapted to be supported between two clips on the frame of a cycle has the elements of a combination lock combined in its barrel a and handle d, relative rotation of which locks the handle to the barrel and thus prevents the pump being removed from the clips. At the end of the barrel and parallel' to it but not in alignment with each other are notches g, h formed one on each of two stepped portions of a gland f. A fixed key piece i is formed as a projection in a thin metal ring l secured in the handle d and can either abut against a step k or slide in the notch h. A similar key piece m which can slide in the notch g is formed on a metal ring o secured in a rotatable bush which projects through the handle d to form a finger piece n and is secured to the piston rod c. The pump is inserted between clips and held there by a spring e. When the handle is turned until the key pieces are out of alignment with the notches, the pump can only be removed by a person knowing the right combination of numerals or letters marked on the finger piece, handle and barrel.
