    • A booster system in a cellular phone base station comprises a plurality of power amplifiers, each of which configured to receive a signal provided by a corresponding transceiver unit that is coupled to said booster system. A hybrid combiner is coupled to the power amplifiers, and is configured to combine the signals generated by each of the power amplifiers. A VSWR sensor is configured to sense a voltage standing wave ratio at an output port of the booster system. Furthermore, a radio frequency relay is provided, which is configured to receive signals provided by the transceiver units. The radio frequency relay is triggered in response to an indication signal based on either a failure in the booster system or a failure in the signal path following the booster system.

    • The invention is directed to water-dispersible, substantially homogeneous artificial diets and diet formulations which provide honey bees with a fully nutritious, complex mixture of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, and vitamins in an easily digestible form. The diets of the invention support growth and development of honey bees, sustain brood rearing, and maintain hive vigor, and thus make possible the continuous rearing of bees using an artificial diet. The invention diets are useful for many purposes, and are particularly advantageous for providing nutrition sources for bees that are moved during commercial crop pollination or for other migratory beekeeping uses.

    • A stairway capable of being shipped in a knock-down condition and erected with a minimum of labor and without special tools is disclosed. The stairway comprises a square tubular elongated support member having mounting brackets at each end enabling it to be mounted in inclined relation between different levels of a structure. A plurality of step assemblies are clamped in spaced relation onto the support member. Each step assembly includes a tread support having a horizontal load bearing portion and an angulated integral strut portion both fastened to a mounting flange which engages the topside of the support member. A locking sleeve surrounds the bottom and side walls of the support member and has outturned flanges which are fastened to the mounting plate by bolts. In one embodiment, the bottom of the locking sleeve has a slight upward convexity which flexes elastically when the bolts are tightened to maintain clamping pressure against the support member. In another embodiment the bottom of the locking sleeve engages flush against the bottom of the support member and the locking sleeve flanges are spaced from the mounting flange and flexed to provide the clamping action.
