摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a player to look forward to exchanging a thumb rest with another thumb rest for generating his or her favorite tone by providing a thumb rest to be used for a part of the components of a saxophone configured so as to be removed with one screw.SOLUTION: A taper male screw (3) for removal adjustment is arranged at the center of a thumb rest body (2). A pin (5) for fixture is arranged on the side face of the thumb rest body (2). The taper male screw (3) for removal adjustment is tightened so that the pin (5) for fixture can be uniformly protruded, and that the thumb rest body (2) can be stably fixed to an inner wall side (7) of a thumb rest pedestal (1). Also, the taper male screw (3) for removal adjustment is loosened so that the pin (5) for fixture can be also loosened, and that the thumb rest body (2) can be removed.

摘要： A planar optical waveguide including a clad layer, an optical waveguide having a core embedded in the clad layer; and a groove formed in the clad layer and having a reflection interface for totally reflecting a leaked light leaked from the optical waveguide to the clad layer. Since the reflection interface for totally reflecting the leaked light is formed in the clad layer, the leaked light is prevented from entering into the tap coupler, and the variation of the branching ratio can be reduced.

摘要： A frequency stabilized laser using an integrated external cavity, comprising a semiconductor laser diode and an optical waveguide installed on the same substrate, and having an optically induced grating formed in the optical waveguide suppresses mode hopping due to a temperature change to stabilize the oscillation frequencies of the laser. A material having a refractive index temperature coefficient opposite in sign to the refractive index temperature coefficient of the semiconductor laser diode is installed on that portion of the optical waveguide between the semiconductor laser diode and the optically induced grating which has been formed by removing an upper cladding and a core, or removing the upper cladding, the core, and a lower cladding.
