    • The present inventions relates to a dual plate check valve comprising an annular valve body, having an up-stream end and a down-stream end, a through passage with two substantially semi-circular openings, two substantially semi-circular plates to effectively close the said two openings, the said plates being hinged on at least one hinge pin and loaded with a spring and a stop pin to prevent the plate from toppling over, two diametrically opposite slots extending radially outward in the passage and axially up to down stream end of said valve body, two holders slidingly received in respective slots, each holder having sockets for retaining hinge pin and stop pin, said holders after assembling at each end of the said hinge pin and stop pin fitted slidingly in respective slot and means to prevent axial movement and radial movement of said holders, characterized in that the said means to prevent the axial movement of each holder is a locking plate received in the recess surrounding said slot on said down stream end, each locking plate being fixed to the said body with one or more screws, and either said slot and holder or said holder and locking plate being configured to prevent radial movement of the holder.

    • A metal plate (100) for a dual plate check valve comprises a substantially circular segment shaped plate member (1) of a predetermined substantially uniform thickness, a means (2) for pivotally mounting said plate member to enable rotation about an axis substantially parallel and adjacent to chord (3) of said circular segment of the plate member, said plate member (1) having a central portion and two extreme end portions (4) distal to said central portion, whereby said end portions are provided with reinforcements (5, 5'), thereby increasing the thickness of the plate member in the end portions, the reinforcements being so located that when the plate member of the check valve is in closed position, the end portions with reinforcements are in radially outward direction from the valve seat of the check valve, when back pressure acts on said plate member, said reinforcements enable said plate member to distort substantially uniformly to maintain sealing contact with the valve seat.

    • Disclosed is a manual balancing valve having an upstream end and a downstream end, and a first equalizing ring (500a) and a second equalizing ring (500b) configured at the upstream end and the downstream end, respectively. Each of the first and the second equalizing rings comprises an annular body (505) defined between an inner peripheral edge portion (510) and an outer peripheral edge portion (515), an annular chamber (520) configured adjacent to the inner peripheral edge portion, a plurality of holes (525) configured on the inner peripheral edge portion and in fluid communication with the annular chamber, and a pressure tap (T) in fluid communication with the annular chamber and extending radially outward of the annular body. The first and the second equalizing rings are adapted to provide static pressure value at each of the upstream and the downstream ends so as to measure differential pressure therebetween and control the fluid flow rate through the valve.
