SOLUTION: A shovel comprises a blade 1 of steel sheet, and a handle 2 made of wood in a circular shape in cross section coupled to the blade. A reinforcing cylinder 5 formed of a metallic material is separately formed, a diameter is gradually increased from an opening on one end side in an axial direction toward an opening on the other end side and the reinforcing cylinder is loosely insertable externally of the coupling cylindrical part 3. In coupling, after the reinforcing cylinder 5 is loosely fitted in the outer periphery of the coupling cylindrical part 3, a connection shaft part 20 of the handle 2 is pressed in the coupling cylindrical part 3 and the handle 2 is fixed and closely fitted through expansion of the cylindrical part 3 due to above, and the outer peripheral wall of the reinforcing cylinder 5 is throttled in a contraction direction. Further, the strength of coupling between the two members is increased, and rotation of the handle 2 around the cylindrical part 3 or slip-off of the handle therefrom are blocked through the rivet 6.
