摘要： PURPOSE: To strengthen a locking force between both units and to make it difficult to separate by incorporating in a combining device a cam which is turned around a turning shaft, an engaging pin with which the cam engages and a cylinder for driving the cam. CONSTITUTION: When the unit 2 is brought into contact with the unit 3, a control valve is operated, air is fed to respective air cylinders 17 in the direction opposite until then, and a piston rod 24 is synchronously protruded. Whereupon, three cams 15 are turned around a supporting pin 16 as the center, and an arc-like engaging part 15a is brought into contact with an engaging pin 46 of a second unit 3. Since a distance between the engaging part 15a of the cam 15 and the supporting pin 16 is minimum at a place near the engaging pin 46, and it is gradually increased as the engaging part leaves the engaging pin 46, a force for pressurizing the engaging pin 46 is increased as a turning angle is increased. Thus, the combination between both units 2, 3 is locked and held.

摘要： PURPOSE: To enlarge a combining force and to prevent defective operation by turning a cam, bring its engaging part into contact with an engaging pin and pressurizing them to combine both units. CONSTITUTION: When the cam 15 is turned toward the engaging pin 46 with a cylinder 17 in a state that contacting surfaces of both units 2, 3 are brought into contact, the engaging part 15a of the cam 15 is brought into contact with the engaging pin 46 in a part wherein a distance from a turning shaft is equal to a distance between the engaging pin 46 and the turning shaft. Further, when the cam 15 is turned, since the engaging pin 46 is pressurized with the engaging part 15a in a part wherein the distance from the turning shaft is larger than a distance between the engaging pin 46 and the turning shaft in a combining state, both units 2, 3 are combined and locked.

SOLUTION: The high-power electrical interface unit 30 for the robot tool exchange system 10 includes high-power electrical connectors having electrical conductivity, which are arranged in a housing, and the exchangeable high-power electrical contacts 105 detachably attached to the electrical connectors. The electrical contacts 105 are exchangeable in and across an opening of the housing without disassembling the other parts of the interface unit 30 through the opening. The contacts 105 are screwed into the connectors, respectively, and the interface unit 30 is equipped with a member for preventing the rotation of the connector when each contact 105 is screwed into the same. The contact 105 consists of a contact surface in the form of a sphere or an ellipsoid of revolution, and a head having side surfaces which are formed so as to facilitate engagement with a hand tool such as a socket wrench.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide an overload detection device being good at durability, flexibility, repeatability, and maintainability and responding quickly. CONSTITUTION: This overload detection device 100 mounted between the end of a robot arm and tool includes a pneumatic chamber subassembly 1 and a stemmed plate 2 pneumatically secured in a unique 'engaging registration' relationship under normal loading conditions, in which case the elevated sealing surface 56 of an annular metal bearing member 16 fixed to the pneumatic chamber subassembly 1 sets an airtight sealed condition. In the event of an excessive load, the engaging registration relationship is upset to allow air to immediately escape and a normally rigid direct coupling set by the overload detection device 100 to become compliant. At the same time, a pressure sensor 3 senses a reduction in pressure and a piston not shown in the figure actuates a switch in the pressure sensor 3. An electrical output signal thereof halts the robot arm.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a tool with an optimal line by connecting a line from an operating means to modules which are attached to a first unit and connecting the line to the tool to the modules which are attached to a second unit. Also, the line of the modules 5, 6 which are attached to the first unit 2 is mutually connected to the line of the modules 32, 33 which are attached to the second unit 3 by a connecting means when the unit 2 is combined to the unit 3. Therefore, the line from the operating means is connected to the line leading to the tool via the line of the modules 5, 6 which are attached to the first unit 2 and the line of the modules 32, 33 which are attached to the second unit 3.
