    • A self-cleaning oven with front door means and having inner and outer walls spaced in insulating relationship to each other and defining air passages at the rear, bottom and sides of the oven, with control means disposed in a side passage, air ducts in the lower ends of the side passages with apertures in their top walls and terminating adjacent the bottom of the front door means, and blower means comprising an inner fan disposed interiorly of the oven for circulating heated air therein, an outer fan in the rear air passage, and a motor exteriorly of the oven mounted coaxially with the fans, with shroud means spaced from the motor to insure movement through and around the motor of outside air drawn inwardly by the outer fan and blow thereby over the control and front door means for cooling purposes, plate and spacer means interconnecting the two fans to prevent direct transfer of heat from the inner fan to the motor, improved front door operating mechanism, and temperature-responsive door locking means automatically operable during a cleaning cycle.

    • 1327366 Releasable fastenings; door operating mechanism ANETSBERGER BROS Inc 15 Dec 1971 [16 Dec 1970] 58242/71 Headings E2A and E2M [Also in Divisions F1 and F4] The doors of a self cleaning oven are hinged at their outer edges on pintles 57, which carry sprockets 58 engaging chains 59. The inner part of the chain of each door is connected to the outer part of the chain of the other door by inner links 62, outer links 61 and adjustable bolts 63, Fig. 7. A plate 64 depends from each inner link 62 and is connected to the frame of the oven by a spring 65, so that open- - ing one door causes the other door to open. A cam disc 66 is mounted at the lower end of each pintle 59 and has notches engaging a pin or roller 71 on a lever 72 pivotally mounted on the frame of the oven and a spring 74 urges the pin 71 into the notches on cam disc 66 that the doors are releasably held in a closed, fully open or partly open position, and are urged to a fully closed position when they are nearly closed manually. A keeper 75 connected through linkage 77, 78 to a solenoid 79 is swung to engage a stud 76 to prevent the doors being opened when the solenoid 79 is energised, by the operation of a control to initiate a heat cleaning operation. A thermostat within the oven de-energises the solenoid 79 only when the temperature falls below 580‹F.

    • Device for spreading butter or other viscous material uniformly across full width of dough sheet on belt conveyor, comprising a base removably mounted above conveyor with elongate, centrally disposed and laterally extending delivery slot therethrough, a casing removably attachable at lower end to the base and having an inlet at upper end, a labyrinth removably supported on the base within the casing, whereby removal of casing, labyrinth and base may readily be effected to facilitate cleaning the labyrinth being formed by a plurality of horizontal plates extending the full interior lateral length of the casing and spaced vertically from each other, with two apertures through the transverse centerline of the uppermost plate spaced on opposite sides of the inlet on centers one-fourth of the length of the plate from its ends, four slots spaced one-fourth the length of the plate from each other along both front and rear edges of the next lowermost or second plate, and eight apertures through transverse centerline of third plate spaced one-eighth the length of the plate from each other to provide uniform misaligned lateral spacing of all apertures and slots in the three upper plates, and a bottom plate narrower than the casing to insure equal distribution of material along doubly reversed paths between the center and the front and rear walls of the casing and successive plates from inlet to delivery slot, and a metering plate slidably mounted on the base for selective manual adjustment horizontally relative to the delivery slot to determine the rate of delivery of material therefrom.
