    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguishing facility or a fire extinguishing method by which the effectiveness of a mist which contributes to fire extinguishment is drastically increased.
      SOLUTION: This fire extinguishing facility 100 includes a mist nozzle 11, feeding means for feeding a source of the mist to the mist nozzle 11, and a control device 21 which adjusts the particle diameter of the mist jetted from the mist nozzle 11. The feeding means includes a tank 19 for storing a fire extinguishing agent, a pump 17, a pump control section 18, a manual valve 14, an electric valve 15, a valve control section 16, and a pressure adjusting valve 13. The manual valve performs an opening/closing motion for switching ON/OFF of the feeding of a fire extinguishing agent to piping 10. The control device 21 also includes a monitoring device 21a, a particle diameter controlling device 21b which adjusts the particle diameter of a mist, and a jetting time controlling device 21c which adjusts the jetting time for a mist. The particle diameter controlling device 21b adjusts the particle diameter of mists in such a manner that mists having two peaks in mist number in the particle diameter distribution of the mist may be alternately jetted from the mist nozzle 11.

Thus, fire fighting is accelerated and the quantity of water required for fire fighting is reduced as the result.
