    • An automatic paper-and-folding machine, which is compact in size and can be conveniently adjusted to accept paper sheets of varying sizes, such as A4 or letter sized papers, and fold them into paper plies before they can be placed into envelops for mailing. The sheet of paper to be folded is first fed from the paper-feeding unit into a first paper-guiding plate (21) in the paper-folding unit to make a first fold through the cooperative action of a first set of rollers (25,26). Then, the once-folded paper sheet is moved into a second paper-guiding plate (28) to make a second fold through the cooperative action of a second set of rollers (26,27). Thereafter the twice-folded paper sheet is guided out of the paper-folding machine with the aid of a paper-guiding roller (30) and an accurate paper-guiding plate (39), and finally the folded sheet is collected in a receiving rack mounted in front of the paper-folding unit.

    • This invention discloses a sheet feeder which comprises a plurality of micro switches, a light sensitive switch, and a controller board having an erasable programmable read only memory (EPROM) for receiving signals from the micro switch and sending pre-programmed responses to control the movement a pair of motors which in turn cause a paper carrying elevator to ascend and send the feed paper sheets into a laser printer. The capacity of the sheet feeder of this invention is several times that of a conventional tray-shaped sheet feeder. The front face of this sheet feeder is provided with a receiving rack, each of whose two ends is furnished with an oblong hole. A sheet guide is pivotally connected to the sheet feeder by means of two small round bolts inserted through the two oblong holes respectively. The height of the sheet guide can be adjusted within a given limit to accommodate the varying feeding port height of a wide variety of laser printers. The sheet guide can be folded down completely against the front face of the sheet feeder to provide packing and shipping convenience.

    • A circuit testing device (10) of the insulation piercing type comprises a hollow outer sleeve (14) having a hook member (16) at one end for hooking over a wire to be tested and a jaw member (22) slidable in the sleeve member between a retracted position and an advanced position in which it opposes the hook member (16) to grip a wire between the hook (16) and jaw member (22). A conductive probe (26) having a pointed end is slidable axially in the jaw member (22) between a retracted position and an advanced position in which it contacts any wire held between the hook (16) and jaw member (22), piercing any insulation covering the wire. The segment of the hook member (16) which opposes the probe (26) has no holes in order to provide solid support backing to the wire to be tested, to prevent damage to the wire and to insure good contact by the probe (26). A manually operable actuator successively moves the jaw member (22) and probe (26) into their advanced positions, and a is provided to maintain any such advanced positions. A signaling device such as a lamp bulb (44) connected to the probe (26) indicates the existence of any electrical current passing through the wire contacted by the probe (26).
