[Class 23] A cyclone separator with an axial outlet for clean gas is constructed so that the dimensions of the parts have ratios given in the Specification. The gas outlet pipe penetrates the separator to a depth of from 0À8 to 1À2 times its own diameter, and the height of the cylindrical part of the apparatus is from 2À25 to 3 times the diameter of the outlet pipe. The diameter of the cylindrical part is from 2À25 to 2À75 times the outlet pipe diameter, and the dust laden gas from the inlet pipe enters the separating chamber over an arc #, Fig. 5, of from 150 to 200‹. A pair of separators may be arranged as shown in Fig. 7, with one inlet above the other and both opening from a common supply pipe ; or the two inlets may be arranged side by side. Sets of two pairs may also be arranged with a common supply pipe. Specification 172,150, [Class 23], is referred to.
