摘要： A container has a base 10 hinged to an upstanding surrounding wall 11 and a latch mechanism 20 to normally retain the base closed. The latch mechanism comprises an upright bar 21 secured onto the front of the container wall but capable of axial rotation, a foot 22 extending from the lower end of the upright to locate engagingly below the base, and an actuator plate or 'flag' 23 extending from the fixedly secured to the upright to rotate therewith. On the application of pressure to the rear face of the actuator plate 23 the foot 22 is moved from below the base 10 to free the base for pivotal movement relative to the body of the container. The plate 23 is located at the front of a lifting bracket 25 mounted on or in the front wall of the container and is actuated by a fork of a fork-lift apparatus.

摘要： A signalling device 1 for the rear parcel shelf (12) of a vehicle comprises a base 2 housing an illuminated sign 4 which projects a signal upwardly from the base 2; and a reflector panel 6 having a one partially reflective side 7 extending above the base 2 at an acute angle alpha . In use of the device in front of a vehicle rear window (11), with the partially reflective side 7 facing rearwardly, the device projects a signal rearwardly of the vehicle through the rear window whilst simultaneously providing a substantially uninterrupted rear view to a driver of the vehicle through the panel 6 from a second side 8.

摘要： A compactor comprises a plurality of telescopic sections (5a, 5b, 5c), each of which has an upper flared peripheral edge (6), and one of which has a base, with a drive means operable upon said sections, said sections together cooperating to define a chamber of variable volume for receiving waste, the compactor (1) further comprises a means for supporting (7) a flexible receptacle (3) within said sections and closure means (8) for said sections to provide a closed volume, which closure means (8) is lockable in the closed position, whereby waste collected in the receptacle (3) is compactable by successive operational steps involving, locking of the closure means (8), driving of the sections (5a, 5b, 5c) to nest one within the next thereby enabling reduction of the volume of the sections confined between the base of said one section and the closure means (8), thus compacting the waste collected in the receptacle (3), the drive means being reversed whereby the volume is then increased to provide space above the compacted waste for further waste to be collected.

摘要： An apparatus is described for polymorphic presentation ot pre-recorded motion picture content. The recorded content (DVD DISC) comprises individual segments ((1,0) (2,0) etc,}, and the apparatus comprises sequencing means (SEQ GEN etc) for defining a presentation sequence (Xp) of a subset of the segments and for causing the segments to be presented in accordance with the defined presentation sequence. The sequencing means is operable to generate said sequence by selecting and adding segments to a sequence already partly defined, using (i) randomised values and (ii) predetermined rules specifying compatibility between the segments already included in the sequence and segments which are candidates for adding to the sequence. Editing and content capture apparatuses are disclosed, in which a matrix presentation is used to organise content segments. Recorded segments can be grouped in X, Y etc. dimensions and sequences made by varying 'character' parameters (Y etc.) as well as timeline position (X).

摘要： A method of selecting content to form a content presentation, the presentation comprising an ordered sequence of selected amounts of content, there being a plurality of items of content available for the presentation, the method comprising: (a) for each of the items of content, determining an associated weight-value based, at least in part, on one or more parameters for the presentation; (b) performing a weighted selection of one of the items of content, the selection being weighted in accordance with the weight-values associated with the items of content; (c) selecting at least a part of the content of the selected item of content to be one of the amounts of content in the ordered sequence of selected amounts of content; and (d) repeating steps (a), (b) and (c) until the presentation is complete.
