    • PURPOSE: A web-based fuzzy decision-making support system for selecting school is provided to increase the reliance and persuasiveness of a user concerned about the result of the decision-making by offering the result in the explanation and an appropriate value. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises many clients(10), a DB(21), a web server(22), a fuzzy decision-making support system(23), and a DB manager(24). The DB receives the input conditions of many clients, analyzes the features of attribute of the input conditions, and stores fuzzy rules based on decision-making criteria and project goal. The fuzzy decision-making support system, fuzzy inference engine, runs the fuzzy inference based on the decision-making table of the DB. The DB manager extends the decision-making table necessary to drive the fuzzy inference engine to the fuzzy decision-making table by referring to the DB according to the input conditions of many clients. The web server receives the input conditions from many clients, makes and outputs an inference result page, and sends the inference result page to many clients through the internet(11).

    • PURPOSE: A data mining method capable of incremental-updating for pattern classification is provided to achieve incremental-updating and to reduce a time complexity. CONSTITUTION: If data are inputted through an interface, a contraction program module contracts this inputted data through horizontal contraction and vertical contraction, a rough set contraction technique, without a loss of information, while deleting redundant data and doubled data. Then a rule creation program module maps the contracted data to rules in a one-to-one ratio in the form of a rectangle using an enhanced fuzzy rectangular decomposition technique, and carries out mining for some rules having correlation.
