    • PURPOSE: Provided is an artificial soil medium prepared by mixing in a appropriate ratio mud or good soil with biopolymer curdlan which forms gel with pores when heated at above 80deg.C. The soil has excellent property as planting artificial material because it can be made as aggregate structure, multi-porous with low dry density and high water content. It is sterilized and made in various sizes for use. It is environment friendly because it is recycled. CONSTITUTION: The method of preparation comprises: completely dissolving 1-20wt.% of curdlan into distilled water and adding 1N NaOH(KOH, NH4OH), making pH12; adding and mixing 1-50wt.% of mud and 1-20wt.% of top soil; neutralizing by adding 1N HCl and heat treating in an autoclave (2atm. 121deg.C, 5min); and drying the gelled medium in high frequency heater(electronic range).

    • PURPOSE: A method for extracting organic acid continuously is provided to perform organic acid extraction operation continuously as maintaining high organic acid extraction efficiency and recover organic solvent disused during extraction so that the recovered organic solvent is used again. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises first step of preparing an extractant by mixing tri-n-octylamine with an organic solvent; second step of preparing a mixture by adding the extractant to an aqueous solution containing organic acid; third step of separating the mixture into extractant containing the organic acid and an aqueous solution by filtering the mixture; fourth step of separating the organic solvent from the mixture by distilling the mixture after preparing a mixture by adding water to the extractant containing the organic acid; and fifth step of separating the mixture into aqueous solution containing a refined organic acid and tri-n-octylamine by filtering the mixture separated from the organic solvent, wherein the aqueous solution containing organic acid is selected from the group consisting of microbial fermentation broth, organism hydrolysate or waste solution, wherein the extractant is a mixture of tri-n-octylamine, hexane and chloroform mixed in a volume ratio of 1:2:3, wherein the aqueous solution containing organic acid is mixed with the extractant in a volume ratio of 1:1, and wherein a hydrophilic filter is used when filtering the mixture in the third step and the fifth step.

    • PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing microorganism immobilized media provided to improve adsorption power of cells by adding a certain amount of activated carbon and optimize media production process by developing manufacturing process having superior immobilization characteristics, and a microorganism immobilized media manufactured by the method is provided. CONSTITUTION: The microorganism immobilized media is characterized in that it is manufactured in a composite of curdlan and activated carbon. The method for manufacturing microorganism immobilized media comprises the steps of putting 5 ml of 1N NaOH into the containers so that NaOH is dissolved into the solution after putting different quantities of curdlan into containers respectively containing 200 ml of distilled water; agitating the mixture well after adding 6 g/L of activated carbon to the respective containers; forming a gelled media by heat treating the neutralized solution at 100 deg.C for 30 minutes in thermostat and at 121 deg.C under one atmospheric pressure for 5 minutes in autoclave after neutralizing the solution by adding 1N HCl to the agitated mixture; freezing the media cut to the square shape in an ultra-low temperature vat having temperature of -70 deg.C and dehydrofreezing the frozen media after cutting the gelled media to a square shape having size of 5 mm x 5 mm; and taking a microorganism immobilized media test in a hydrogen sulfide removing reactor using the dried media, wherein additives such as activated carbon and yellow soil are added to the media to maintain activity of microorganisms, and wherein the microorganism immobilized media is manufactured as maintaining strength and porous shape of the media by drying the gelled media after forming a gelled media by heating the mixture of curdlan and activated carbon.
