摘要： PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing brevifolin carboxyl acid as an effective component is provided which has anti hepatitis B virus activity but no toxic effects. CONSTITUTION: Anti hepatitis B virus composition contains brevifolin carboxyl acid and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The brevifolin carboxyl acid is a compound of formula (1) extracted from Phyllanthus urinaria and can be obtained by sephadex LH-20 column chromatography of the aqueous ethanol extract; thin membrane chromatography by using coloring reagent of FeCl3 and isolation of highly colored portion by 2 % of ethanol; and reverse phase chromatography of the isolated sample three or four times.
